DANCE

I discuss mise-en-espace in my work separately in this portfolio; in line with this, over the years I have become increasingly interested in the combination of opera/music theatre with dance. Collaborations between performers and choreographers have a tradition dating back to the early days of opera in the seventeenth century, and there are examples of this in my work as well. But after completing my MA in Arts and Culture at Utrecht University and in African Studies at Ghent University, I immediately started working with dancers as a creator myself. Nowadays, I write dance reviews for the Theaterkrant.
