PROJECTS:
Even though the times are tough for performing artists, Javier is always preparing new projects and elaborating new ideas.
He is currently preparing a new piece for Ivorian actor Philippe Irie.
Also his activities in West Africa keep developing and he wil definitely be back in Lomé to work with Kadam Kadam again, but also in Cotonou, and in Abidjan, where he is helping to establish an official curriculum for stage directors. He hopes to be able finally to pay a new visit to Conakry and research theatre life in Guinée.
And with retirement approaching, he is actually in the throes of writing a proposal for a practice based PhD on the subject of the musical aspects of West-African Popular Theatre.
